Gold Increases Its Value to the Art World
What is the value of gold? For the art world this question has never had any real relevance, until now with the introduction of
"revolutionart," the reproduction and re-creation of original art as Art on Gold!" Art on Gold brings a new dimension to any piece
of art, be it an Old Master or a new, up and coming, contemporary artist.
But, why gold? That question was answered by Kenneth A. Bray, President of Impress Em Products when he announced both
the introduction of Art on Gold, the newest form of reproduction and re-creation to hit the art world,
"There is something mystical about gold that has fascinated people throughout the ages its lustre, its shine, the way it glows and changes in different light everyone wants to own gold whether for its value , prestige or just because it looks so beautiful. But
can't the same be said about art? So, why not meld the two--the aura of gold with the magnificence of fine art."
Once their quest was decided, Bray and fellow researchers took to the task: finding the right grade of goldtone metal worthy of the
artwork; preserving the integrity of the original artwork by fusing the image with the elegance of the gold; and visually enhancing
each art piece, created one-at-a-time, before the final melding process. "I still cant believe how many beautiful reproductions we
originally discarded because they didnt meet the standards of excellence we were setting. The coloring, contrast and clarity had
to be just right."
This new process, for the reproduction and re-creation of original art, is called "revolutionart," because it is truly revolutionary to the
art world. Using new technology, the original art is prepared as a reproduction; special attention is given to detail and
consideration for how it will blend with the gold, followed by electro-thermal fusing to create the permanency, as Art on Gold. This
state-of-the-art process gives enormous range of possibilities for a piece of art, while it permanently preserves the painting by
dyeing the image deep into the Gold.
Just as golds lasting value has been well proven, now these reproductions will last from one generation to the next, retaining or
increasing in value, while keeping the beauty of the art alive. Concerned about the integrity of art on a metal substrate, Bray
stated, "Our one criteria, first and foremost, is to maintain the integrity of the original artwork. Yes, gold may be a new concept for
reproductions and re-creations, but metal has been used over the centuries for original pieces, so why not to preserve an original
piece of art. Art on Gold does not exhibit the drawbacks associated with other reproduction formats: paper, is commercially
mass-printed and can be damaged or even destroyed by the elements and time; canvas, though much more resilient, can be
ripped or damaged, and the colors of the art can fade. Art On Gold reproduces art individually, through "revolutionart " using high
quality, timeless goldtone metal , to maintai! n its beauty, and therefore, its value. Additionally, every Art On Gold reproduction is
hand made, one-at-a- time, from start to finish, thus allowing for maintained quality control of every reproduction. The result is a
work of art suitable for gallery exhibition; that can proudly hang with the most treasured art collections.
"Once the process was perfected," Bray explained, "we met with our technicians to discover the possibilities for this new art form. Experimentation with lighting gave entirely new dimensions to every piece created. We found that we could change the look, just by the way the light was projected on each piece. The lighting alone transformed the coloring, shadows and lustre into an entirely unique creation. The glass or no glass in the mounting conflict soon resolved itself as a glass matte covering was found to impede the true image of the artwork. Then we began to venture, what we thought was far a field: we combined different pieces of artwork to develop themed art or collections of a specific artist, we created: different sizes, shadowed in the artists portrait, made collages; and found that we could re-create just as well as reproduce. We found our possibilities were only limited by our imaginations. We believe that this makes Art on Gold a ver! y valuable addition to the standard methods of reproduction.
"Art on Gold is now a permanent division of Impress Em Products. We are continually adding new artists and are presently
expanding our collection of art to include portraits, landscapes and historical remembrances. One of the most amazing
happenings so far, was when, world famous artist, Morris Katz: the creator of Instant Art, the worlds most prolific painter,
Guinness Record holder, and television personality, agreed to have his paintings re-created as Art on Gold. It was also quite a
coup when he started offering Art on Gold at his personal appearances, along side his original paintings. Today, we are proud to also represent his 2.5 million dollar collection of Presidents and we eagerly await his completion of President George W. Bush.
"We are very proud that our Masters Collection has been receiving rave reviews," Bray continued, "some of the comments have been : I never thought I could afford to own a Master; It is incredibly beautiful, I wouldnt know it wasnt an original painted onto the goldtone metal. I cant believe something that looks that expensive could be so affordable; And affordable is what we were shooting for. So, we researched beautifully framed reproductions and found the range to be astounding; so, as an introduction, we started at a suggested retail price of $99.95, which includes a quality wood frame.
"Art on Gold, has also recently made its debut at the second largest mall in the country. Prominent portrait artist, Yulli Haruni
displays his work as Art on Gold at his store in the Palisades Mall, West Nyack, N.Y. Recently, Haruni was commissioned to do a portrait of Wayne Newton and that same Art on Gold portrait was presented to Wayne at his Las Vegas estate."
Thrilled with the developments and possibilities, Ken Bray concluded that, "we are now dealing with a much more extensive art
collection than we ever could have anticipated. We have just started to create themed artwork: depicting the life of Native
Americans, the Civil War and the American Revolution and have recently created a collage of World War II pictures of Anzio for a private collector...we are also creating special pieces for resorts and attractions...and this is only the beginning. A recent contact with the Smithsonian Institute has led to an invitation to present our Art on Gold.
"Ultimately, we need to ensure the integrity and lasting value of each of these reproductions and re-creations, while continuing to find ways to develop the concept. We want to interest new artists in using this form for their work and art lovers in purchasing Art on Gold for their homes, offices, collections or to give as gifts. Therefore, every Art on Gold will only be produced in limited editions; with a registration number and a Certificate of Authenticity.
"We believe that we have stepped into a new era of development for our company and the art world alike. Gold has truly become a valuable commodity to the art world."
