David has won many gold medals for his work. The ageless spirit of his art, which transcends the boundaries of culture, has touched the hearts of people around the world. His showings have spanned the globe from the United States and Canada to as far away as Jakarta, Indonesia. David Lemon was born to Art. The face of the Old West stares out from the vibrant bronze images that spill from his vision. His work, in all its gritty detail, provides a window into a time when possibilities were endless, when survival wasn't "guaranteed", and man lived or died by the sheer force of the human spirit. He was called to his craft by his earliest memory. It happened as a youngster in the Utah wilderness when his grandmother led him to the little log cabin on the family homestead, all the while recounting tales of the wild west in which she and her 9 brothers and sisters had grown up. While he listened in wonder to the stories of real life cowboys and Indians, David's imagination took flight. It was only a matter of time before his vision would meet up with the incredible talent with which he was born. David's work appears in some of the largest art collections in the country and is part of the permanent collection of the Springville Art Museum in Springville, Utah. Articles about his art have appeared in Southwest Art Magazine, Western Horseman Magazine, Art of the West Magazine, and many others. He was a featured artist in the book, Contemporary Western Artists. David Lemon is a member of the American Indian and Cowboy Artists |
