| Podi has hosted groups of artists to the South of France since 1994. The areas landscape is extraordinarily diverse. Quieter & cheaper than most of the South of France not frequented by too many tourists. It's close to Spain and the
Mediterranean with the Pyrenees Mountains to the South, the Cervennes to the West and the Massif Central to the North. Thus protected it does not suffer from the Mistral or Trementane winds as other areas close by do. In 2003 Podi will be taking a group to the market town of Pezenas. Known as Herault's City of Light", it claims 300 days of sunshine each year. It has therefore attracted a number of artists of international fame. This Market town is full of surprises and inspiration. Its medieval history produces the most interesting architecture, often from the inside. Each Saturday a lively market takes place. The surrounding countryside is covered with vinyards producing the excellent Languedoc & Rousillon wines, with views to the mountains. Yet only 25 minutes drive to the beaches of the Mediterranean. Further afield, but worth a day trip, is Spain. Just 2 hours to Figueras where the museum of Salvador Dali is an absolute must. Prices for this inspiring holiday range from only $1200 for a week fully inclusive of accommodation, meals and transport from/to Montpellier airport.
