Born in Chapel Hill, Tennessee, Katherine began her art career in the field of graphic design, but gradually moved into painting as a more satisfying means of expression. A Fine Arts graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, she has won major awards, taught classes, and conducted workshops and residencies that have included senior citizen seminars, homes for the elderly, and for local schools (from pre-school through high school).

Katherine's other interests include writing (poetry, in particular), photography, church and family, music, and travel.
