Winnipeg artist, Yoram H. East, was bron in Jerusalem where he studied art
at the Bezalel Art School. Later he continued his studies in Wiessbaden,
Germany, and over the years dealt with various forms of visual and plastic
art. His career as a journalist and a writer took him to many corners of the
world, from the Middle East and the Mediterranean to Africa, the Far East, Europe, and many parts of North
America. In Canada he worked and lived on a remote Ojibwa Indian Reserve, and many of his recent paintings are
influenced by his experience with North American natives. Some of his work
is inspired by Middle Eastern history, as well as mythologies, and Biblical themes.
Yoram paints on canvas, wood, household articles, musical instruments, wooden toys, and much more. His vibrant colours are a culmination of his
sensitivity to the bright and strong colours and shades of the Mediterranean.
Yoram is also a published author and a former high ranking officer in the
Israeli Defense Forces. He now lives in Winnipeg, Canada, where he owns a small cafe`-restaurant and gallery in which he displays his work. |
