Mastery of technique and form are admired by collectors and peers alike. My quest for skill and knowledge has rewarded me with the ability to successfully synthesize glaze to form, evoking a quiet eloquence in each piece. My use of gold, platinum, and other precious metals clearly contrasts the raw with the opulent while maintaining a delicate balance between the two. Soft undulating rims and lips suggest a relaxed human element to my forms. The swirling, glaze-trailed motifs symbolize a complex and elaborate journey representative of man's inquisitive pursuit of the unknown. This human  connection, prevalent in many of my pieces, forms the heart and spirit of my work.  Reflecting a true artistic spirit, I continue to evolve with my work. Having learned to take advantage of the unpredictable nature of clay and fire, my work remains fresh and full of vitality. My work is shown in galleries across the country and is represented in many private, public  and corporate collections internationally.

I would like to communicate with you my sentiments about my sculptures and pottery:

The move in 1988 to this beautiful Island of Hawai'i, influences my work greatly. The astounding shapes and colors of the rugged lava, the irregular shaped, though in so many ways elegant 'ohi'a tree and the tropical environment, together with my present and past experience all give me the inspiration to create my sculptures, vessels, vases, cups and other works.

In mixing my own clay body I create a relationship with the medium. The clay then allows me to originate from within, my mostly spontaneous yet simple in form ceramic pieces.

All my sculptures and ceramic pieces are hand built, this process allows for impromptu intuitive development. In addition it allows for the never ending exploration of the wood firing process, as part of my conviction of letting nature do as it pleases.

I like what happens to the appearance of each piece as the natural ash deposits and the flame flashings create the most astonishing natural glazes, ranging from yellow, to brown, to burgundy, to green.
