Fantasy Doll Art |

I am passionate about creating one of a
kind figurative art dolls. My love of art and music gave me the desire to create
my own art, and the art doll gives me an arena to create pieces of art that
evoke emotion. When I see someone smile or shed a tear while looking at my
figures I know I have accomplished my endeavour. My journey in doll making or
figurative sculpture has been so very satisfying, and I hope to continue along
this path improving my skills and hopefully transferring my love of this art
form to the person who decides to have one of my pieces in their life. Bonnie Jones lives in Natchez, Ms. with
her husband and a 4 month old Scottish Terrier. She began her journey in the
doll world making cloth dolls and even starting a pattern line. When she
discovered polymer clay a whole new world opened up. She uses a range of clays
from different polymer clays, which require firing, to some of the air dry
clays. She is constantly searching
antique shops for vintage fabric and trims for the costumes in order to create
that unique look. Perfection is the name of the game as she creates each One of
a Kind Sculpture, taking her time to make sure everything is perfect. Her most popular figures have been that
friendly old gentleman, Santa Claus. Her line of One of a Kind Santas is called
The Santa Collection. But recently she has branched out making One of a
Kind fantasy figures such as faeries, wizards and mermaids. She also has a line
called Holiday Collectibles which consists of Folk Art pieces including
figures for Halloween and Christmas. Most of these pieces are sculpted from the
air dry clays and painted with acrylics and then antiqued to give them that
wonderful aged patina. Although Bonnie is basically self-taught, she has taken
classes with Jack Johnston, who is acclaimed as one of the leading instructors
in sculpting One of a Kind art dolls. She has also taken classes with Barbara
VanNoy who teaches skin texturing and hand-tied eyelashes. Barbara is considered
to be her mentor and friend and someone who has given her the confidence to
continue in this venture. As for the future, Bonnie will continue
to improve her skills and create One of a Kind sculptures. She is also
considering teaching in her studio. Craftsmens Guild of Mississippi,

I have been an artist for as far back as the memory carries, it seems that I have had always had a pencil or chalk in my hands. I love to "feel" my work, even when doing a portrait I prefer chalk so that I may really touch the piece as it is born. A number of years ago I met and fell in love with polymer. I started out making many country items and have created hundreds of unique pieces, hence, "CCbunny & Company" was born. My works have been sold through out the world, I currently list all of my wee ones on ebay. The little faeries, elves, mermaids and other fantasy art dolls that I create are a great joy, each has a very distinctive personality that I love to watch develop during its making. Much time, patience, detail and love goes into each and everyone! All CCbunny works of art have my "special trademark"...Beautiful Swarovski crystal eyes! These radiant crystals have amazing true colors that catch and reflect even the smallest amount of light causing each little creation to have that "special twinkle"!! Being a small business it is
important that I create the best works possible at a reasonable price,
my business depends on the quality and the uniqueness of each piece, no
molds of any kind are ever used. Please be assured that all of my works
are one of a kind, although I may use variations on the same theme. |

If you wish we can also create a fairy especially for you using your choice of collar of lace or silk, your choice of hair color and style, your choice of skin tone (we blend our own porcelain) and as for the setting about the only limit is your imagination. You direct us and we will create it. For a very special fairy send us a photo and we will do a fairy to look like you. The Fairies have been featured on Life TV's Sue Warden CraftScapes, CTV, and in the Toronto Star. We make our fairies to be whimsical and fun and to capture your imagination so we hope you enjoy them. |
