Connecticut artist, Marie Lynch, demonstrated a special gift for the creative arts at an early age. During childhood, she quickly progressed from one artistic project to another, and finally found her forte in oil painting during her teen years.
As the recipient of a full merrit scholarship to the prestigious Silvermine Guild of Art, she diligently studied all aspects of fine art, including art history, design, printmaking, sculpture, and oil painting. During her senior year at the Guild, she was awarded a studio of her own in which to complete her thesis and other project work.
After working for several years on large abstracts, she then concentrated on still lifes, and most currently specializes in commissioned portraiture, with an emphasis on children and pets. Ms. Lynch is now working in the medium of collage in addition to portraiture. |
